Vintage Daisy Tablescape

Today's tablescape is very special!  After many visits to the window display of the downtown Gamble's on Main Street, Mom decided she had to have the Fred Roberts Co. dishes for her hope chest.  So she asked her mother to buy them for her 14th birthday.   And she has kept them with her all of these years.  Nothing says the 1970s like daisies!!

I kept the table simple so the dishes take center stage.  This is a coffee and dessert setting.  I love the cookie jar and coffee mug caddy!

I couldn't resist taking a picture of the CUTE salt n' pepper shakers - even though they don't go with my theme.

Apparently, Edith Bunker on "All in the Family" had these daisy style cups.  Phoebe on "Friends" had these in salt and pepper shakers.  I can't confirm either of these "sightings."  If anyone has further info, please let me know!!

I hope you enjoyed my tablescape!!

  3. The fact that these were in your mother's hope chest makes them all the more special. Since I grew up in the '70s, they made me smile. Such fun dishes and so many daisy/garden themed possibilities!

  4. I love dishes. Dishes with a story? Wonderful! How wonderful that these are well preserved and still loved.
