Happy Hour #12 with Vodka Caramel Apples

Welcome to Happy Hour!  Tonight we are serving Vodka Caramel Apples.

This is just something I whipped up because I wanted to use this wonderfully smooth vodka my parents brought back from Switzerland called Trojka.  It is so smooth I can drink it straight up, which is saying a lot for me because I don't care for hard liquor straight.  But this is amazing.  My Trojka vodka is a caramel vodka liqueur.  There are also many, many other flavors that Trojka offers.  I hope to have the chance to try some others.

So to use my wonderful vodka, I simply heated up some apple cider and added a shot of the flavored vodka.  It is sooo good!

I added a cute garnish of an apple slice and a caramel.  I heated up the caramel for about ten seconds in the microwave before I put it on the toothpick.  That way the garnish stuck to the side of the glass and stayed put!

This will work with other caramel flavored vodkas as well.  I'm not sure how readily available Trojka is in the U.S., but if you see it, buy it!!  You'll love it.

Cheers!

  2. I'm a "straight up" vodka girl, but this does seem enticing. I will check with Gomer's which is a store here in the Kansas City, MO area that can get just about anything. I think your apple/caramel cocktail would be a big hit with some of my friends who enjoy sweet drinks. Heck...I'LL even try it! :-)
