Rainy Day Granola

Since the first day of summer included rain -- again! -- I decided to make some granola since we were stuck inside. Fresh-baked granola right out of the oven is soooo good! Plus I needed to make something to put into my brand-new, really cool container. A friend of mine received one of these at her bridal shower two weekends ago and I loved it!! It's from OXO and it's a clear plastic container that has a lid that seals at the push of a button.

It's so easy to open, you just push the button and the lid comes right off! Plus it was on sale so that was an extra bonus.

But back to the granola. Below are some links to a few different granola recipes. I use one similar to the Alton Brown recipe, minus the vegetable oil and raisins. Give one of these a try!!

Alton Brown from Food Network
Slash Food
Kathy Nichols
Joy of Baking

Now I have breakfast that is great on the go or at my desk. And it will last a week for my family. Plus it looks great on my counter!!

P.S. If you're selling your house, don't bake bread before an open house. Make granola! It makes your house smell sweet and yummy!!
