Fitz, Floyd and Mom

Pheasants have always been a symbol of family for us.  Pheasant hunting season meant we would drive all night to the farm and stay with my grandparents.  Cousins would come, Grandma would bake and there would be pheasant for dinner.  Henrietta's homeland is the land of the pheasant.  So it is only fitting that this great symbol be part of the dinner table beyond being the actual dinner.  So this week's table is a guest spot from mom's house featuring her Fitz and Floyd pieces with a little help from Lenox.

I love the soup tureen.  He looks so stately sitting there in the center of the table.  And the pheasant feather handle is so great!

At Christmas, mom decorates her entire tree in a pheasant theme and it is beautiful!  I will be posting pictures as part of a tree parade post.

All of these pieces have been collected over the years by mom:

Place settings - Lenox, Kelly
Soup tureen, candleholders, pitcher and serving platter - Fitz and Floyd, 1990
Silverware - Mikasa Romancing
Appetizer pick - mudpie oakleaf/pheasant, TJ Maxx
Stemware - Mikasa Flame D' Amore
Pheasant feather placemats - Wal-Mart, years ago

Don't forget to visit Susan at BNOTP to see her spooky Halloween table and other great tables!

Coming soon to HH is Happy Hour link party, featuring yummy cocktail recipes and fabulous barware!  Our first party will be next Wednesday.  Join us with your favorite drink!

  7. I get so nostalgic for Tulare and family this time of year! Walking the fields, Grandma Jean making "new ways" (or however you spell what she Sloppy Joes/Barbeques), and the classic photo of the guys lined up behind the birds. Ah, good memories. Thanks for stirring them up :) Hugs!
