Happy Hour #4 Celebrating Veteran's Day!

Veteran's Day is this week and Henrietta's House is celebrating!  The table is set with my Havilland china, some red plates, fun star lanterns, super cute red martini glasses, beautiful stars and stripes ribbon and lots of candlelight.

I love how a few simple pieces get transformed by the amazing ribbon from mom.  It's a foot or so wide and drapes so nicely.  Check out my mantel using the same ribbon!!

I used Grandma Henrietta's hand-stitched linen napkins.  The red striped ribbon gives them a festive touch.  My new silverware is Towle Living Collection "Wave."  I love it (thanks, Mom!)!

Happy Hour wouldn't be Happy Hour without a cocktail.  So tonight we are giving our guests their choice of a red, white or blue cocktail!

Red:  Cosmopolitan

4 parts Citron Vodka
2 parts Cointreau or Triple Sec
2 parts cranberry juice

1 part lime juice

Shake all ingredients together over ice and strain into a martini glass.

White:  White Chocolate Martini

1 part white chocolate liqueur
1 part vanilla vodka
Optional - garnish with white or dark chocolate shavings

Shake all ingredients together over ice and strain into a martini glass.

Blue:  Blue Cosmo

2 parts Absolut Citron
1 parts Blue Curacao
1/2 part grapefruit juice
1/2 part sugar syrup
1 Maraschino cherry

Stir vodka, blue curacao, grapefruit juice, and sugar syrup in a mixing glass with ice to prevent cloudiness.  Strain into cocktail glass.  Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Cheers!!  And happy Veteran's Day to all veterans and those serving in our armed forces!!

Hope my link up for this week is ok -- it is not exactly booze-centric, but I thought it could still count as a happy hour. Hope it is ok.
