Chocolate Brown and Turquoise Table

Mom found some pretty chocolate brown and turquoise dishes at TJ Maxx.  They went great with the white twig centerpiece I just did.  I also had some wine glasses I've had for years that came from Pier 1 Imports.

Do you see the napkins?  Those are linen napkins that belonged to Great-Grandma Henrietta and I'm honored to use them!  I finished them with a chocolate brown satin tie.

Dad went to China a few years ago and brought back two small urns for me.  They are called black pottery and have the most lovely design on them.  The opening is the perfect size to hold tea lights!  So they are the candlesticks for my table.  And its nice to show them off.  They are quite the conversation pieces.

This is one of my favorite settings I have done.  It is a really good mix of old and new pieces.  The classic linen napkins coordinate perfectly with the modern pattern and color palette of the dishes.

I hope you enjoyed this week's table!  I have big plans for the white twig centerpiece.  You will be seeing it again, but next time you do it will be creepy and a little scary!!  Stay tuned....

The table is really fun and I like the Oriental touch. I had forgotten how handsome the urns are.

  13. Oooooooh, I feel a spook tree coming. The white twig centerpiece is so effective. Your table captures so many great contrasting elements: old & new, light & dark, smooth & textural, clear & solid....very nicely done! I love the aqua and chocolate brown, and I adore that you are such a good steward of your Great-grandmother Henrietta's beautiful napkins. Thank you for sharing your lovely design. Cherry Kay
