Happy Hour #17 Woo! Woo!

Welcome to Happy Hour at Henrietta's House!  I have not posted anything in so long!! I'm sorry. I just got back from a trip that was inspiring.  I'll tell you all about it later.  But right now, it's Happy Hour.

In our lovely town on the mighty Mississippi, the railroad makes it's way through along the riverfront.  So when we used to hang out at our favorite bar (before the kid, the corporate grind and the Mortgage) trains would regularly pass through town, whistle blaring - wooooo, wooooo.

So every time a train would roll though, you had to have a Woo Woo.  This yummy drink can be slammed or sipped, depending on your persuasion.  Here is the recipe:

1 1/2 oz peach schnapps
1 1/2 oz vodka
3 1/2 oz cranberry juice

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice.  Give it a good shake and strain into a glass.  Serve.

So tonight for Happy Hour we are using some cute Baruether Walsassen plates with trains on them.  The centerpiece is a very old train that was found in the basement of my grandparents' farm years ago.  I'm not sure if it was a toy.  I need to try and do some investigating.  It's rusty but beautiful.

So the next time you hear a train whistle, remember to Woo Woo!!

Cheers!
