Welcome Back Party for the Birds!

In Better Homes and Gardens magazine, they suggested throwing a party to welcome the birds back.  And I'm so glad they're back!!  The birds started chirping again a couple weeks ago and the grass seemed to turn green overnight.  So this week we set a table celebrating birds, green grass and everything that lets us know that Spring is back.  Two little resin birds look out from under the fern.

These little bird nests add some texture to the table and reinforce our bird theme.

I love that these napkins can do double duty - flowers on one side, stripes on the other.

Mom's Czechoslovakian dishes pair up perfectly with her Baruether Waldsassen bird-themed butter pat plates.  Each little butter plate is different.  Mom has six in all.

My flea market amber-colored water glasses go perfectly with mom's etched wine glasses.

My daughter helped us take some pictures.  She loved the designs on the glasses.  These pictures were taken by her.

Mom has a great collection of Baruether Waldsassen china!  Check them out below:

  5. Hi, Jenny! The sound of birds chirping IS quite welcome and long overdue! I love the way you are celebrating the return of those little creatures with your pretty tablescape. Your Mom's butter pat plates ARE perfect with the china!!! VERY pretty!!! I really like that bird cage in the background, too. It looks like you have a greenery kissing ball in it? Very cool! Hey...I hope you will visit my blog and enter the Mikasa Giveaway I am hosting through March 30. Just enter your best Spring tablescape (easy for YOU to do!) for a chance to win six 5-pc. place settings of Mikasa's "Daylight" pattern china. It is quite versatile for spring and summer use. Very graceful and understated. Best of all, it's dishwasher safe!!! Woo hoo!!! Please give your Mom my best. My Mom will be celebrating her retirement from the Missouri Senate tomorrow. I've had my hands in water all afternoon making floral arrangements for the tables. Planning to create an on-site floral for the buffet table that will stand about 7-ft. tall. Wish me luck! Have a great weekend!!!
